Louise Harrison Interviews
March 5th, 2017 by The Professor
Tim Tilghman of Radio RockonTour (Wednesdays noon-2pm) has had many chances to pursue his Beatles obsession, but no one has been a more frequent guest on the show than Louise Harrison, sister of George (yes that one) Harrison. Here are his most recent chats with Ms. Harrison on WLOY and we apologize for the bonus phone noises… RIP Louise 🙁

Focusing on seven artists living in New York City, Rent shows the everyday struggles they face, as well as the deeper struggles, like HIV/AIDS. So don’t miss Rent (even though the characters are missing theirs) because you don’t want to miss a great performance about life and the love in it.

What: Maryland Zoo
Where: 1 Safari Place
When: Friday-Monday, 10am-4pm
Take advantage of this amazing Spring weather in February with a trip to the Maryland Zoo! The prices at the zoo dropped, just like the temperature should have, but lucky for us, that means low prices and high temperatures. From now until the end of February, the Maryland Zoo will only be charging $10 for admission. Go check out the animals to remind you of winter like the Arctic Fox or the penguins, which you can see up close and personal with Penguin Encounters Tour. Is your mind set on summer? Then go see some warm weather animals like the Cheetah, African Bullfrog, or Reticulated Giraffe. But, for just $10, you can see any of these animals and many more, so hurry over before this deal ends!

Explore Baltimore: Five and Dime Ale House
February 21st, 2017 by WLOY Staff
What: Five and Dime Ale House
Where: 901 W 36th St
When: Mon.-Thurs. 11am-12am, Friday-Sunday 11am-2am
With modern twist to the old diner and tavern lifestyle, Five and Dime Ale House is a great place to grab an amazing dinner with friends. Their menu features a little bit of everything, including tacos, fish and chips, mussels, or burgers so everyone will be able to get what they’re in the mood for. My personal favorite is the fig and prosciutto sandwich which has the tastiest balsamic vinegar I have ever had and is loaded with tons of prosciutto. But even if you don’t try this favorite, one of their many other delicious dishes is guaranteed to exceed your expectation. The great food isn’t the only draw to this restaurant though. Five and Dime also has a nice atmosphere for catching a game and a meal after work. With it’s warm lighting and rustic-chic styling, you will be instantly relaxed when you walk into Five and Dime, and that relaxation will only continue as you enjoy your food and watch a sport of choice on one of their TVs. So, whether you go for the tastes, the variety, the atmosphere, or just because I said to, Five and Dime will make every penny worth it.
