Merry Christmas Baby – Otis Redding (the man could sing a Chinese menu and make it kill
Father Christmas – The Kinks (snarky working-class rock classic)
Christmas in Hollis – Run-DMC (If you don’t enjoy this, re-evaluate everything)
I also just realized they came out in 1967, 1977, 1987… now I have to find a decent 1997 release to expand my horizons
They should all be played by everyone”

It’s day six of WLOY’s 12 Days of Christmas Music and this one’s a double whammy!

“I have 2 because I can’t pick and I’m the worst.
My favorite traditional Christmas song is ‘Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24’ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
I don’t care what anyone says – this song goes HARD. I always just think of it as a kind-of metal Christmas song, which I love.
My other favorite is ‘Christmas Eve/Pierceton Queen’ by Chase Huglin.
This song is so cute, and my lil emo heart lives for it. It’s not a traditional Christmas pick, but I feel like it exemplifies the season perfectly in the sound of the song. I just remember listening to this a lot in my car when I was driving last winter.”
