Sweet Leda Studio Seizure 4/17/17
April 17th, 2017 by The Professor
This week as a special Easter treat, we get not one, but TWO hours of chatting and spinning time with Jaime and Julie from Sweet Leda. The Professor chatted with the pair (bass & vocals) about what’s in the water in Pasadena, who they love, and just what kind of horror film they scored. They brought some of their (and our) favorite local albums, and talked about the process of recording their own latest piece of vinyl Let It In.
Studio Seizures run every Monday 7-8pm, except this week it’s 7-9pm with 2 special hours of Sweet Leda!

Explore Baltimore: Psycho at The Senator
April 10th, 2017 by WLOY Staff
What: Psycho at The Senator
Where: The Senator, 5904 York Rd
When: Wed. April 19th, 7pm; Sun. April 23th, 10am; Mon. 24th, 1pm; Tues. April 25th, 1pm
As part of their Spring Revival Series, The Senator is showing the classic horror movie, Psycho. This Hitchcock thriller, known for its iconic scene that takes place in the shower, is a must-see, especially in a cool theater like The Senator. Follow the secretary, Marion Crane, as she stops at a remote motel after spending time on the run. Here she meets Norman Bates, the high strung motel owner who loves taxidermy and has some difficult love for his mother. This black and white film already has an old time feel, and in the old fashioned Senator, you’ll feel like you’re watching it in the theaters back in 1960. Don’t miss this chance to appreciate this classic the classic way and be scared!

March 30th, 2017 by WLOY Staff
What: Beauty and the Beast
Where: The Senator Theatre (5904 York Rd, Baltimore, MD 21212)
When: See showtimes on The Senator’s wesbsite
A “tale as old as time” comes to life alongside Lumière the candlestick and Cogsworth the clock in the 2017 adaptation of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. Now playing at The Senator in Baltimore, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of a young woman offers herself as a prisoner to a terrifying beast to free her father. Little does she know, the heinous captor is actually a prince under a magical spell. Dancing teapots, a beautiful and classical soundtrack, and a magical story are brought together in the version of the fairytale that most of us are familiar with, but there are whole new elements in the 2017 version that make a cultural statement, not to mention the phenomenal cast. To see showtimes and step into the magical world, click here!
