Goo Goo Dolls Interview

November 5th, 2010 by WLOY Staff

goo goo dolls loyola WLOY

The Goo Goo Dolls rocked Loyola’s campus over Halloween weekend, 10.29.10 to be exact, and luckily I managed to grab a quick interview with the band before the show as they relaxed in McGuire Hall. Half of McGuire was converted into the band’s dressing room, complete with fifty-inch TVs, leather couches, and the overwhelming stench of crab cakes. After adapting to the smell, I sat down at a table with the trio and talked about the new album, the song writing process, and the story behind “Iris”. You can listen to the interview mp3 below!

We Are Scientists Interview

November 5th, 2010 by WLOY Staff

Last month Ryan Nisley and Taylor DeBoer had the good fortune of talking with Keith Murray of the band We Are Scientists. The band played a show at the Metro Gallery downtown, so the three of us walked across the street and chatted inside the Charles Street theater. Our conversation took us from the release of the band’s most recent album to the concept of rock songs transformed into European soccer chants by football hooligans. You can listen to the interview in the mp3 below!

During the show the band let loose with an in-your-face Brit pop attitude that was all about having fun. Keith and Chris, the bassist, joked between songs and interacted with the crowd to create an intimate atmosphere. If you haven’t heard of We Are Scientists, check out their newest album, Barbara that was released over the summer.

Eccentric in its style and varied in its menu, the Papermoon Diner will have you amazed at the decor literally hanging off the walls as well as tantalized at all of the savory food.

No matter what the time of day, the Papermoon has it all; however, their breakfast is clearly where they shine the most. Breakfast comes in the form of fluffy omelettes featuring a variety of ingredients like (but not limited to) avocado, tomato and bacon or their famous challah French toast. Whether you’re a vegan or a meat-loving fiend, the Papermoon Diner can cater to you!
