On a self guided tour you can walk or drive the trail with various markers distinguishing important African Americans who have shaped Baltimore as a city, it’s culture and the way it is today. These people also helped gain civil rights and affected the music, art, literature and politics of their time. You can take the tour at your leasuire. Take this opportunity to learn about the great city of Baltimore and all the ways it was shape, in addition to ways Baltimore helped shape America.

Museum Mondays: Amaranthine Museum- Treasure Hunt

As a part of Free Fall in Baltimore, visitors of the Amaranthine Museum will be provoked to look deep within the Labyrinth paintings for tiny details included in their treasure hunt. By searching the paintings and looking to match them with their correct title, you will be in a race to match all the pieces in hopes of taking home a prize. This hunt is a fun, interactive way to get yourself involved with the paintings included in the exhibit. You will be given the opportunity to look at the paintings in a new way in order to successfully complete your treasure hunt!

Museum Mondays: 13th Annual Baltimore’s Great Architecture Lecture Series at Homewood

What: Lecture series and site visit on the resurrection of Baltimore’s monuments in the early 19th century

When: October 21, 26 & 28
Homewood Museum, operated by JHU, is hosting a lecture series with topics about the turn of the 19th century in Baltimore, and is set at Homewood due to the Carroll Family’s former residence there over three decades. The lectures will focus namely on the Washington Monument and the city’s Battle Monument, and the series will include a site visit on October 26th. These lectures and visit will be culturally rich and plan to enlighten the community and beyond about the history present within our city. Tickets for non-members start at $12 per event and more pricing is available online.

The beautiful gardens and historical grounds are a wonderful place to go explore or maybe on a picnic. They have lots of events coming up this fall, including a Halloween event with a costume parade and a pumpkin carving contest!

Museum Mondays: National Electronics Museum

The National Electronics Museum is a fantastic way to travel through the history of electronics. The museum features many exhibits showcasing pieces from a broad span of time periods including, but not limited to, the history of early radar, Cold War electronics, WWII technologies and underwater electronics. The National Electronics Museum is the only way to get all the info you need on how electronics have advanced through the years.
Admission is only $ 1 for students!

Museum Mondays: Baltimore Summer Antiques Show

The 33rd Annual Baltimore Summer Antiques Show will return to the Baltimore Convention Center, August 22-25, 2013. Put on by the Palm Beach Show Group, this show is anticipated to attract tens of thousands of collectors and dealers from all over the world. The show is the largest indoor antiques show in the country, offering access to aisles of fine art, furniture, Asian art, American and European silver, jewelry, porcelain, glass, textiles, American folk art and more, ranging from the antiquities to the 20th century. The show is anticipated to have more than 200,000 items on display! Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the show’s free lecture series, headlined by exhibiting dealers and industry experts. There will also be an antiquarian book fair within the show, featuring rare books, first editions, autographs, fine manuscripts, and unusual bibliographical material. Tickets are for sale online at $15 per person and are good for all four show days.
