The Citizens of Baltimore City present Scapescape 2013, a four-day event sampling the best of Baltimore arts & culture. Better than one hundred of Baltimore’s most fantastic acts will perform on seven stages with local artwork on sale in seven different galleries. This is always an awesome set of shows in great, intimate local venues. More show times and locations are being added so follow the link to get the latest. Check the list carefully, shows start as late as 2am!

Theater Thursdays: Nick Offerman – American Ham

On the Emmy Nominated show Parks and Recreation, Nick Offerman works along side an ensemble cast of some of the funniest comedians, like Amy Poehler and Rob Lowe, in the game. Yet, Offerman has still managed to stand out and has developed a cult-following from many viewers. For you avid fans, head on down to The Lyric to see this funny man perform his act, live! Tickets are approximately $50 per person, and there are a lot of great seats still available! If you don’t recognize Offerman from Parks and Rec, you’ve also likely seen him in Casa De Mi Padre, 21 Jump Street, and Men Who Stare at Goats! He has also received numerous awards and nominations for his various roles! This show promises to be a good time, so purchase your ticket before it’s too late!

Food Fridays: Surf and Turf Summertime Fun Festival

Carroll County Farm Museum – 500 S. Center St. Westminster, MD

Come out July 20th to enjoy a Maryland State favorite, surf and turf. The Carroll Country Farm Museum is proud to present the Surf and Turf Summertime Fun Festival for another year running from 2-7pm. This event will be sure to satisfy your seafood craving with some of Maryland’s famous crabs. Food and drink will be provided, and beer sales will be held my the Knights of Columbus. The event will also feature various craft vendors, a horseshoe competition, farmhouse toys, classic car displays, and old-fashioned children’s games, among other things. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 7-18 and adults ages 60 and over, and free for children 6 and under. This will surely be a fun and relaxing summer event.

Moldie Oldies 4th of July Tradition

Join Nick Centanni on WLOY 10-12PM and 6-8PM for 2 separate beachfront broadcasts of the Moldy Oldie Show this July 4!

Nick will have a mix of upbeat summer songs, Independence Day facts, jokes, and of course periodic visits from campus royalty via the ‘gold campus royalty phone.’

He will be up to his usual tricks so you won’t know what to expect next. There will also be a special Independence Day wishes from some familiar voices in the 6-8PM hours.

This is high octane radio so make it a date and don’t be late! The fun begins July 4 at 10AM all right here on WLOY!

Sports Saturdays: Pigtown Charity Golf Tournament

Back by popular demand is the Pigtown Charity Golf Tournament. This annual event, hosted by Pigtown Main Street, is sure to be a hit. Registration is $75 for one person and $275 for a foursome. There will be a putting competition to win a brand new STX putter! There will also be a hole-in-one competition for a $10,000 Golf Getaway. At 11 PM, lunch will be provided by Big Bad Wolf BBQ and there will be a program to announce winners of the events. The proceeds will benefit Pigtown Main Street, a non-profit organization committed to the historical and economic revitalization of the Pigtown commercial corridor.

Museum Mondays: National Great Blacks in Wax Museum

If you haven’t been to the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum yet, you need to make sure you get to it. This museum is extremely unique and culturally dynamic due to its human-like preservation of significant men and women in African American History. The museum offers a unique perspective by also highlighting individuals in African American History whose contributions were great but often go unnoticed in most history lessons. It also offers guided tours for individuals and groups. Admission prices range from $11-13 dollars, with discounts offered to college students and senior citizens. Be sure to check out this culturally unique Baltimore landmark.

Calling all kids between 6th and 9th grade! The Baltimore Rowing Club is offering a summer camp from Monday June 24th to Friday July 19th on weekdays from 9am to 1pm. If you’re interesting in rowing competitively in high school, this would be a great opportunity for you. This camp will allow students to row in Olympic-style rowing shells, learn to or improve their swimming ability, and meet new friends with similar interests. The cost per camper is $25, which includes a healthy snack.
