Originally from Pennsylvania, Brian completed a Masters program in Philosophy and taught Intro to Philosophy college classes. He shares his story of how he became homeless, moved to Baltimore, and has now nearly finished writing a book with a humorous take on his life, titled, “The World is My Home, Life as a Free-Range Human.” Download a sample chapter. GLOW IN THE DARK Zombie T-Shirts are Here!

The Zombie t-shirts have arrived! We will be selling them for $10 outside of Boulder Garden Cafe from 11am-1pm on Fridays this month (10/8, 10/22, 10/29).
Just a reminder, these shirts have ink that GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! How many shirts do you own that do that? I’m not betting that many of you do, but if you do, let me know because I want to see them.
For those of you who did our pre-order for the shirt, they will be available for pickup at any WLOY event coming up this month, or you can come down to the station in Bellarmine Hall between 11am and 11pm Monday through Friday and pick it up. Call 410.617.5313 if you have any questions.

Winner of the Back-to-School Prize Pack Chosen!!

Remember when WLOY said they were giving away pairs of tickets to concerts at Ramshead Live as well as a giant prize package including one pair of tickets to all thirteen shows? We really weren’t kidding. The lucky winner of the huge Back-to-School Prize Pack was chosen on Sunday and the winner is… Megan Carlucci! Congrats, Megan! This Thursday, September 23, WLOY’s Late Night Concert returns! Head over to McGuire Hall from 8pm to 12am for this FREE concert!! Loyola’s own Beauty and the Greek – comprised of Maria Dontas ’12 and John Herbster ’12 – will be opening at 8:30, followed by Red Sammy and then ending with Loyola grads, A Cool Stick.

A live special edition of Both Feet In! Dr. Sylvia Park speaks with Monifa Wilson about her job working with homeless youth in Baltimore City. She shares what it’s like working as a Service Navigator for the City Steps program of AIRS (AIDS Interfaith Residential Services, www.airshome.org), how she chose to work with youth who are experiencing homelessness, and the insights she’s gained along the way. Prior to earning her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Ms. Wilson worked for 10 years in various positions such as a community organizer for a union, a case manager at a homeless day shelter in New York City, and working with foster care children.
