Well, this week it’s Black Rhinoceros his acoustic duo with Erin Snedecor on cello and Ahren on guitar (with both providing vocals). It’s part chamber music, part country, part rock and roll, and all wonderful. We’re trying something new and hosting the show in the Fitness and Aquatic Center from 8-10pm on Thursday night. Review: Lola Marsh – Only For A Moment

Lola Marsh – Only For A Moment
Release: 2019
Rate: 8.7/10
RIYL: Acollective, The Backyard, Jane Bordeaux
Lola Marsh is a duo that is comprised of vocalist Yael Shoshana Cohen and multi-instrumentalist Gil Landau. They released their first EP “You’re Mine” back in 2016. Lola Marsh became very popular online and then during their live performances, and they have now played both in North America and in Europe. They released their first album “Remember Roses” in 2019 and hit 40 million streams on Spotify.
Only for A Moment is a new single released by the duo and if it could be just a taste of a new album coming. I would say this song starts off with a very chill sound, a sound that reminds of the song “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac, but then takes an interesting turn and turns more upbeat. This is the perfect song to play when you’re just hanging out and want a song that will make you bop your head to the beat. If this is a sneak peek of what is to come, then I am very much looking forward to what is coming.

Jon Winslow and Peter Royall at Coffeehouse 11/7
Wednesday, November 6th, 2019 by WLOY Staff
Jon Winslow is a folk rock band from Baltimore. The band consists of Loyola alumni members Taylor DeBoer with vocals and guitar, Casey Miller on guitar, Ryan Zadera on guitar, Maria Dontas with vocals, Aaron Perseghin on bass, and Chris Sweeney on drums. Their debut EP was just released this past March, and it centers around the life and experiences of band member and songwriter Taylor DeBoer. The lyrics are both personal to DeBoer and familiar to any listener, covering topics like family, childhood, love, young adulthood, loneliness, and hope. Originally from Maryland, Peter Royall graduated from Loyola in 2015 and actually got his start as a singer/songwriter at WLOY open mic nights. With musical influences in indie folk, acoustic rock and pop, this will be a great show for you to come chill out to while doing your homework or grabbing a coffee friends. So come to Starbucks this Thursday, anytime between 8-10pm, to support these talented Loyola graduates and catch a great show! See you there.
