Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 by WLOY Staff

Do you like to feel the sensation of flying around in space while you’re actually comfortably seated? If so, then the IMAX film festival is the perfect place for you.

Ending March 3, the festival features films on Michael Jordan, Hurricanes, Deep Sea Volcanoes and one movie simply called “Extreme.” If that isn’t a jolting good time then I don’t know what is.

Films rotate throughout the festival and visitors can go for films without purchasing a ticket for the entire museum. IMAX festival, maximum entertainment. The science center is located in the inner harbor and open everyday except Mondays. For more information on the festival visit their website.

Tourism Tuesday: Baltimore’s Best on The Food Network

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 by WLOY Staff

Charm City flourishes all over the Food Network. In addition to the show “Ace of Cakes” there are numerous Baltimore establishments popping up all over the Food Network.

For breakfast, the network has featured Blue Moon Café, famous for exquisite and nauseatingly filling French toast. And for lunch they’ve noted Fells Point’s Brick Oven Pizza, a place where you can build your own slice or pizza, good luck choosing from over 52 toppings. And for the meat lovers out there, Chap’s Charcoal Restaurant was noted for their famous pit beef sandwich.

For dessert you can stop by Fed Hill or Canton’s Dangerously Delicious Pies. So maybe abandon Iggy’s this weekend and try some Food Network food, 15 minutes of stale fame but lasting fresh incredible food. Enjoy!!
