Dad Rock Interviews David Liebe Hart

While you were busy sleeping after too much tryptophan, Dad Rock got the chance to interview David Liebe Hart, a man whose resume includes musician, puppeteer, performer, and artist. Formerly one of the stars of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! on Adult Swim, he is now a touring musician with the David Liebe Hart band.

As a special treat today, our Alumni Happy Hours not only spans 2 generations but 2 radio markets! Jim France (’78) will be hosting the Alumni Happy Hours show with his daughter Heather who is a DJ at WVYC at York College in Pennsylvania. WVYC will be carrying the show live in York, which is, frankly, pretty darn cool. Thanks to Tom Gibson at WVYC for making it happen on their end!

Today is College Radio Day!

Today is College Radio Day, and it has begun for more than 350 stations across the country. Founded by Rob Quicke and Peter Kreten, the goal of College Radio Day is to bring together the listenership of hundreds of thousands of college radio listeners as well as to celebrate the important contribution of college radio to America’s airwaves.
Additionally, College Radio Day, a not-for-profit organization, wants to raise a national awareness of the numerous college radio stations that operate by encouraging people who would not normally listen to college radio to do so on this day. Today, you can catch the Rich on the Radio Program from 3pm – 5PM; you can listen to Maggie from 6PM – 7PM; you can listen to some terrific tunes with Beauty and the Greek from 7PM – 8PM; you can rock out with Anthony Landi from 8PM – 9PM; and, finally, you can become a winner by listening to Billy Dries and his cohorts as they are giving away tickets to see Vertical Horizon at Baltimore Soundstage on 10/16!
It’s a day of celebration. It’s a day of live music and special interviews. It’s the day we all come together.

Interview with NURSES Tonight on Dad Rock!

Recently, WLOY DJ Phil Bolton (of Dad Rock fame) got an exclusive interview with John Bowers of Portland-based experimental pop band, NURSES. The band just released their album Dracula, and they are midway through their tour now!
