Tourism Tuesday: Sherwood Gardens
November 16th, 2010 by WLOY Staff
Whether you’re a fan of autumn or just the all-around nice November weather we’ve been having, you’re sure to fall in love with Sherwood Gardens.
First created in the 1920s as a hobby for local conservationist John W. Sherwood, Sherwood Gardens has become known as the most famous tulip garden in North America. About 80,000 tulip bulbs are planted each year along with a wide variety of rare trees and spectacular sights.
Located just one block east of the 4100 block of St. Paul Street, Sherwood Gardens are open to the public at all times. It may be a little chilly now, but stop by the gardens now to see and appreciate the full bloom and beauty of the tulips come springtime.
