Special Show- WCSB Students Say Goodbye to their Radio Station

Tonight at 9 p.m. WLOY will be airing a one-hour special show featuring students from radio station WCSB saying goodbye to their station at Cleveland State University. On October 3rd, which happens to be World College Radio Day, CSU decided to turn over WCSB 89.3 to IdeaStream Public Media’s JazzNEO. This abrupt change ended 49 years of student and community-produced programming and kicked out over 100 radio station volunteers from a place they considered to be like home. Now those same volunteers will have a chance to say goodbye to their beloved radio station and share what WCSB meant to them and the greater community.

However, they are not giving up! Now rebranded as XCSB they are continuing fight to regain control of their station and its airwaves. If you wish to support them in their fight, here are some was you can help:

1. Sign their petition on Change.org.
2. Consider cancelling donations to IdeaStream, CSU, or WCSB through the CSU Foundation. Self report any donation cancelations using this form.
