This is the 4th track from LAANDS album “Music for the Future” which was released early this March. LAANDS was formed by Rania Woodward and Brian Squillace. They began working on this album in the spring of 2021. They were inspired by their surroundings in nature and say they connected with the spiritual world around them in the creation of the track. “K TOWN” fits their typical electronic pop sound, but its catchy beat and fun lyrics stood out to me.

“K TOWN” speaks to the quarrels of love and the changing of relationships that ultimately cause two people to be now strangers to each other. However, lyricist Woodward acknowledges the inevitability of the relationship ending as the chorus repeats “I think we knew we were changing.” Although the lyrics are generally repetitive, it’s not hard to enjoy this song. I imagine myself driving through the warm, summer air with all the windows down as this song plays. It is dreamy, yet psychedelic, and fast-paced. “K TOWN” will definitely be a summer staple for me!
