Wacky Wednesday: Ghosts
April 6th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: Baltimore Ghost Tours
Where: Fells Point
When: Tour Schedule
I was leaning towards something a little scarier this Wednesday and I figured since it is April scary is wacky… Therefore your Wacky Wednesday is Baltimore Ghost Tours hosted throughout historic Fells Point… If it is historic there must be ghosts.
Whether or not you believe in ghosts there is no way this tour will not spook you out–just thinking about it gives me a chill. Enjoy a Fells point historical pub ghost walk, or head over to Mount Washington neighborhood to check out all of the spirits that keep a residence there. Baltimore ghost tours has been around for 15 years so they are well versed in all of the spirits that loved Bmore too much to leave. Not freaked out yet? Then I suggest you go on a ghost tour!
Click here to see the full schedule and all of the ghosts… I mean stops… you will be seeing.

Tourism Tuesday: Orioles!
April 5th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: Oriole’s Game!
Where: Camden Yards
When: Game Schedule!
Baltimoreeeee the O’s are back and better than ever!
It is finally that time of year where we can head over to Camden Yards, get a hot dog and what a good old fashioned ball game. For Baltimore natives or tourists this is an excellent idea to hang out with friends and family as the weather begins to get nicer and nicer. Make sure to find your best orange or Oriole’s attire, a faded orange baseball cap is absolute must, do not speak to me if you are not wearing one.
Oriole Park opened on April 6 in 1992, this is a ball park that paved the way for many more across the country. So while in Baltimore this season why not catch a game and take a tour of Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Go here for all the Oriole information you will ever need!

Lukas Graham-Blue
April 5th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
Luke Graham-Blue
Released: April 01, 2016
Rate: 4/10
Lukas Graham, originally from Christiania an artistic community in the middle of Copenhagen, released his second studio album, Blue through Warner Bros. Records. Originally garnering American buzz and success from his song, “7 years”, the album is a kind of a disappointment. Blue, is pretty stagnant and does not drift far, melodically from 7 years. Graham however, does try to explore other genres of music: some R&B, some funk, etc. but it ends up making the album come off sloppy and disjointed. Read the rest of this entry »

Food Friday: Canton Dockside
April 1st, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: Canton Dockside
Where: 3301 Boston St. BMORE
When: Hours
Yes Baltimore is known for crabs, we all know that.
We know that because they are so so so good… especially at Canton Dockside.
Stop by Boston St to devour some amazing crab the classic Bmore way; knife and chisel in hand. Canton Dockside has the freshest crabs out there as they deal directly with the fishermen. If you’re not into cracking some shells no worries, they have plenty of other options that are less work intensive. Start off with a Crab Pretzel; a homemade pretzel with their delicious crab dip on top. Then move to a crab bisque (my personal fave) and maybe scoop an oyster or two (I promise it’s easy). Next, lets bite into a Blue Crab burger, or an Oyster Sandwich.
As you can see Canton Dockside has a wealth of seafood options for you to munch on.
Click here for the full Canton Dockside menu.

Theater Thursday: Dance Theatre of Harlem
March 31st, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: Dance Theatre of Harlem
Where: Murphy Fine Arts Center
When: April 2
I have always wanted to be a ballerina. But… sadly I am not. Luckily for me, I can admire the ballet by sitting observantly from the audience in the Murphy Fine Arts Cente on April 2!
The Dance Theatre of Harlem will be coming to Charm City to show off their amazing talents. Now, you’re probably expecting to sit through a classical ballet, but if you know anything about the Dance Theatre of Harlem they are anything but that. They are modern and innovative with their moves while being on pointe.
Check out the ballet in a whole new way on April 2 at 8pm! Click here for tickets and other information about the Dance Theatre of Harlem!

With a vibe similar to “Talking Heads”, Underworld releases the album, Barbara Barbara, We face a shining future after a six year hiatus. The album is a testament to their electronic nature.
