* Disclaimer these rankings aren’t hard and true, please don’t get mad at me for not putting Beyonce on this, Beyonce has her time elsewhere *
5. D.R.A.M – Big Baby DRAM – [itunes link=”https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/big-baby-d.r.a.m./id1162244059?uo=4″ title=”Big_Baby_DRAM”]
Fresh off the success of “Cha Cha”, D.R.A.M dropped his soul influenced, positivity laced new LP “Big Baby D.R.A.M”. With features coming from everyone from Lil Yachty to Erykah Badu, D.R.A.M shook up the hip-hop world with his energetic style of hip-hop. Described by D.R.A.M himself as “trappy-go lucky music”, D.R.A.M clearly differentiated himself from his counterparts this year. “[itunes link=”https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/broccoli-feat.-lil-yachty/id1162247737?i=1162248457&uo=4″ title=”Broccoli” text=”Broccoli”]” is a certified party anthem.

Explore Baltimore: The Dizz
December 9th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: The Dizz Pub
Where: 300 W 30th Street
When: Hours
Want a real taste of Baltimore? Then check out the Dizz, a great pub called “Baltimore in a bar”! Wall covered in cute, quirky decorations and lights to show off all their Baltimore pride, The Dizz is about more than just eating: it’s about the experience. Come out and site down to catch a Ravens or Orioles game which will be playing on one of the many televisions in the restaurant like the true pub style. While you’re there, grab some of that classic pub and diner food food that The Dizz does so well. Whether you’re in the mood for some fish and chips, a hamburger, wings, or a wrap this pub has it all and much more. They even serve up some great breakfast food! My personal favorite is their chicken cheesesteak, which always has the perfect ratio of cheese to meat. So take my order advice or go find your own favorite, but make sure you try The Dizz, or else you’re failing Baltimore!

December 8th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
What: About Face Exhibition Opening
Where: Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave
When: Saturday, December 10th, 6pm-8pm
Featuring artwork by Amy Sherald, Rozeal, Tim Okamura, and Ebony Patterson, the Creative Alliance is welcoming its new About Face Exhibition. All of these talented contemporary artists have come together to create art that gives attention to underrepresented communities and historically marginalized groups through the art of portrait. Each piece of art attempts to denote stereotypes about race within each artist’s specific style. The opening is a free event open to the public, and the About Face Exhibition will be open until January 28th, so there is plenty of time to stop by. Whether it’s Amy Sherald’s black and white depiction of someone dressed in a way to contradict stereotypes or Ebony G. Patterson’s photo prints of different human forms, these pieces will grab your attention.

Late Night Concert: Saleem & The Music Lovers w Wendel Patrick 12/8/16
December 5th, 2016 by WLOY Staff
Stop by McGuire Hall this Thursday, December 8th, from 8pm-10pm for WLOY’s last event of the semester! With performances by Saleem & The Music Lovers with special guest Wendel Patrick, the show will definitely be great.
Hip-hop artist Saleem, performing with his full Music Lovers band, regularly draws a crowd at our Honfest stage. As both a spoken word poet and hip-hop performer Saleem never fails to engage an audiences ears and minds! This is a chance to hear new music from Saleem’s forthcoming album. Wendel Patrick has been called “wildly talented” by the Baltimore Sun. Playing every note on his albums, Patrick has electronically produced amazing and unique sounds. However, electronic production isn’t his only talent: he’s also “equally at home” performing with band, improvising, beat boxing, or playing classical music. With these two local artists, the last McGuire show of the semester will be one you won’t want to miss. So take a break from studying and swing by the show!

Featured as a Best of Baltimore and on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, don’t just take my word on how great Sip & Bite is, take Guy Fieri’s word as well.

Known for their famous crab cakes, make sure you pick up some to try either alone, in a sandwich, with shrimp, or even as a breakfast. Seafood not your thing?
