1960: Elvis Presley returned to the music scene after completing his military service in the US Army.
1970: Janis Joplin’s posthumous album “Pearl” was released, featuring her hit single “Me and Bobby McGee.”
1987: U2 released their fifth studio album, “The Joshua Tree,” which went on to become one of the best-selling albums of all time.
2012: Madonna released her twelfth studio album, “MDNA,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
2016: the world mourned the loss of legendary musician and songwriter Frank Sinatra Jr., who passed away at the age of 72.
