Men’s Soccer Senior Night
November 6th, 2015 by WLOY Staff
The Men’s Soccer team plays their final game of the season at the Ridley Athletic Complex on Saturday November 7th at 1:00 pm against the Holy Cross Crusaders.
The Greyhounds have had a disappointing 2015 campaign as they sit at 2-12-2 overall and 0-7-1 in the Patriot League. Loyola did pull off one of the biggest upsets in school history this year defeating rival UMBC who was ranked 11th in the country when the teams squared off in September.
Saturday’s matinee will be the final collegiate game played by Loyola seniors Mike LaRose and Max Moog. LaRose is a two-year starter for the Greyhounds. He really stepped up this year anchoring the defense when junior defenseman Ryan Tuck went down to an ACL injury in the preseason. Moog has also stepped up in the mid-field this year due to many injuries at the position including junior John Toher.
The defense has been strong all season long as they have allowed 1 goal or less in 9 of the 16 games this season. The problem has been getting the ball in the back of the net. The Greyhounds have only scored 6 goals all season including only 1 goal in Patriot league action.
The future does look bright for the Greyhounds as 13 out of the 26 players on the roster made their debut in the green and grey this season including 10 freshmen.
Come out and support your fellow Hounds on Saturday afternoon as they close out their 2015 campaign and look to get their first win in the Patriot League this season.
