OK Go @ Ramshead Live – Show ID no Fees

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 by The Professor

No Fees from OK Go

OK Go continues to fight the power! For Sunday’s show at Ramshead Live you can buy your tickets with NO FEES which saves something like $4.2 million at Ticketmaster alone. Just show your college ID and you won’t pay the fees. Brought to you by the same band that told its label EMI to pound sand when they wouldn’t let them embed videos. EMI was stupid so OK Go started their own label. You can support that kind of independent mania on Sunday w. special guests Earl Greyhound, Robert Francis (doors open 7pm) for $20.

Nightsbridge In-Studio Interview

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 by The Professor

The guys from Nightsbridge (including WLOY Alumni David “Mr. Fabulous” Gregory ’06) swung by WLOY for a sit-down with Eric Sappington before their triumphant stomping of the stage at The Recher.  Their premiere show there crushed the other bands on the bill.  Some simply hung their heads in shame in the crowd, while others quietly drifted off to new jobs selling funnel cakes at traveling fairs, anything to avoid playing music again.

WLOY Selected 2010 Club of the Year!

Monday, April 19th, 2010 by The Professor

WLOY has been selected the 2010 Father Timothy Brown, S.J. Club of the Year!  The award is recognition of our work throughout the year, exemplifying the Jesuit ideal of men and women for others.  We’re humbled and thrilled and honored.  We knew we worked hard, but it’s amazing to have others recognize and support the efforts of our whole staff this year.  It’s exactly what the seniors need to know – their work was important as they graduate into the ‘real’ world.  It shows the new freshmen what can be achieved with such a small staff if they forgo sleep and a social life… ummm… no wait… strike that.  Congratulations to the entire staff of WLOY for their award and recognition of their great efforts this year – you all deserve it and more!
