Today is the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death. We remember him for not only his prolific career with the Beatles, but also his impressive solo career that followed. There are so many words that one can say about John Lennon; in short, he is an inspiration for the young and the old, and his influence has stretched across many generations. A peacemaker, political activist, and voice of a generation, Lennon will be forever remembered for changing music.

The Second Annual Loyola Rising Returns!
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 by WLOY Staff
The Loyola Poetry Club is hosting the Second Annual Loyola Rising on Monday, November 20 in McGuire Hall at 8PM. It’s Loyola’s ONLY music and poetry show, and last year’s high attendance proved that Loyola Rising is a must-attend event! The list of performers names almost twenty Loyola students who will be singing, rapping, breakdancing, reading original poems, playing music, liturgically dancing, building the beat, et cetera. If that does not sound titillating enough, headlining the event will be Loyola grads turned hip-hop phenomena, A Cool Stick as well as George Watsky. Big acts are playing alongside YOUR friends – be there! Oh, and WLOY is co-sponsoring the event 🙂

WLOY goes to Louisville Part 3
Saturday, October 30th, 2010 by WLOY Staff
In the third day of the very long and very informative business trip, it can be said that WLOY has really learned so much. Beginning with a 9:00 AM session, the whole crew: Tim, Billy, Christa, and Amanda (excluding Anthony who had a very long and strenuous night dealing with multiple “Business Clients”) went throughout the various conference rooms of the humongous Galt Hotel (which has its fair share of interesting room names such as Spiegel, Sampson, Coe and the like as if we were transferred into the mystical land of Narnia), learning different aspects of the radio world. WLOY goes to Louisville Part 2
Friday, October 29th, 2010 by WLOY Staff
“You look very professional at your little desk right now.” – Timothy Teeling

Upon taking our seats on the flight to Louisville, PR Queen Amanda took notice of the suits sitting around us and quickly proclaimed the CBI Conference a “business trip.” Anthony also took a liking to the idea, and I took a brief hiatus from hyperventilating over the prospect of being 4,000 feet above the ground to lament the absence of matching WLOY briefcases.
