The largest producers-only farmer’s market in Maryland, the Baltimore Farmer’s Market and Bazzar offers a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, a vast selection of beef, poultry, and seafood, deliciously fresh baked goods, and much more! You can also enjoy the unique collection of crafts including goods such as jewelry, clothing, pottery, rugs, and other fine arts! Whether your there to shop for yourself, friends, or simply to browse the many vendors, a trip to the Baltimore Farmer’s Market is a great way to spend your Sunday! Did you know that renowned American poet, Edgar Ellen Poe, was one of Baltimore’s most famous residents? If you enjoy Poe’s work, or simply want to venture into history, pay a visit to Edgar Allen Poe’s gravesite and memorial. But don’t forget to bring a penny! Tradition tells that school children started collecting pennies to buy the poet a more proper grave, and since the 1870’s, visitors have been leaving pennies at on the grave to carry on and remember this thoughtful tradition! When you think of penguins, you probably think of icebergs, polar bears, and movies about a happy little tap-dancer. The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is showing penguins in a whole new light with their latest exhibit, Penguin Coast, a South-Africa-inspired habitat for African penguins, a penguin species unique to the African continent. Not only will the exhibit allows guests to get a much closer look at the adorable birds with its underwater viewing, wave action, and water features, but it will also provide resources for penguin housing, breeding, and care that will assist this endangered species. The Evergreen Museum is just located right next to Loyola! It has a beautiful garden attached with an equally beautiful building. This building was owned by Baltimore’s Garrett family who ruled the railroads back in the day. So, you can guess how beautiful this house is on the inside! You are welcome to tour this beautiful home or just enjoy the grounds. (Fun Fact: Netflix’s House of Cards was filmed there.)
