Where: West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor

For the first time Christmas Village will transform Baltimore’s Inner Harbor West Shore Park into a traditional German Christmas Market. Running from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve the spirit of the Holiday season will be alive along the waterfront. The Christmas Village is an indoor and outdoor holiday market modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany like the famous Christkindl Market in Nuremberg. From Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve vendors in more than 60 booths will sell traditional European food, sweets and drinks providing a unique shopping experience with international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts. The outdoor area around the Walter Sondheim Fountain will bring the original Christmas Village charm with its traditional German style wooden huts to Baltimore. In addition a heated festival tent will create a Christmas shopping atmosphere with more vendors, a Food Court and live entertainment.

Watch antique O-Scale trains and a street car wind their way through a 20th century Baltimore neighborhood and take a stroll through two centuries worth of antique fire engines and a reconstructed 1871 fire house! Plus, don’t forget to get your picture taken with Santa! The market opens with an event on Saturday, November 30 from 10a.m. to 4p.m., featuring free photos with Santa in a Fire Chief’s Sleigh from 11a.m. to 2p.m.

The park and the homes will all be decorated to celebrate the season. We offer you a special afternoon to stroll through our National Register of Historic Places district, and through the many fine 19th century homes opened for your pleasure. If you are new to our tour, you may be surprised to find that while we are very consistent in our views of proper Victorian streetscape, we vary widely in our concepts of interior decor. See this authentic scale model Civil War railroad on display in 3D terrain. The importance of railroads during the Civil War was significant. From the arrival in Baltimore of a Union regiment of Massachusetts troops by train in April 1861 to the end of the war in 1865, when troops used the railroad to return home, railroads played an important role in the Civil War.

They take on the most complex subject, how artificial intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology, genetics, 3D printing and Big Data play a role in human life. This thought-provoking exhibit investigates technology’s influence on issues of privacy and surveillance, employment and manufacturing, longevity and health, defense and warfare, farming and food, access to global and personal information, creative invention, and entertainment. The American Visionary Art Museum’s 19th original thematic exhibition makes you think and question all aspects of human life.
