Monday, September 29th, 2014 by WLOY Staff
Calling all kids and grown ups that are young at heart! Chessie Jam is coming to Pier Six in Baltimore! On Saturday October 4, the children’s music festival, Chessie Jam, will be hosting kid friendly music and fun activities. There will be free face painting from 12:00-2:00pm, an instrument petting zoo, a photo-booth, a moon-bounce, tie-dying, a storybook village, and much more! These fun things are paired with even more fun music. The featured bands include the winners of “Best Musical Album for Children,” Milkshake, and even Yo Gabba Gabba’s Biz Markie!
Join WLOY and participate in a live recording of our award winning program, “What Happens Next?” Running since 2009, this children’s program has helped promote better reading, writing, and communication skills as well as help expand imaginations. We provide the beginning of the story, but our participates figure out “what happens next!” WLOY will be promoting this program as well as working with kids to write and record their stories at Chessie Jam! Come out and enjoy some music and fun this Saturday!

Once in a generation, a player comes along and defines a great player and great leader for his or her sport, a player whom fans will remember and respect for years to come. For this generation, that player is Derek Jeter.
After 20 incredible seasons in pinstripes for the Yankees, the time has come for Jeter to bid a fond farewell to the fans of New York and the fans of baseball around the world, and boy did he do it in style!
In front of a sold-out crowd at Yankee Stadium, Jeter stepped up to the plate in a tie ball game in the bottom of the 9th with a runner on second and a chance to win the game for the Yanks.
