The Prids are an indie–rock band, which originated from Oregon. Just like their last albums, The Prids’ new release, I Only Care About You and Me, blends elements of punk–rock. During “Bear on a String” is a striking example of how indie rock can take listeners on an unpredictable musical journey. From its catchy pop hooks to the dynamic shifts in rhythm and sound, the song creates a sense of surprise and emotional release. This balance between catchy melodies and unexpected shifts embodies the duality of indie rock, offering both euphoria and introspection.
“Tell Me Nothing” is filled with shimmering guitars and apathetic vocals which captures the bittersweet essence of fleeting summer romances, mixed with nostalgia. It feels light and disconnected, yet emotionally charged. “Sore,” on the other hand, is a darker, more intense fusion of rock and melancholy, with intertwining vocals and a prominent bassline that adds emotional depth.
