Hannah Pruzinsky, or h. pruz is a Queens-based singer and songwriter who focuses mainly on the genre of light indie-folk. In her most recent album, Red sky at morning, her vocals are very delicate, combined with the deep themes of the song. All of this, combined with the airy music following her voice, made me feel that it is the perfect album for these chilly but sunny days.
Much like many of her other releases, Red sky at morning surrounds tender topics such as love, fear, identity, and mental health. Listeners can connect with h. pruz on a deeper level through her amazing lyricism in every song on the album. For example, songs like “Arrival” talk about the struggle between dependency and control.
I would highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys the emotional lyricism of artists like Adrienne Lenker and the soft and folk-inspired music of bands like Fleet Foxes!
