What if? Baltimore Ravens visit Pittsburg for Rest and Struggle?
November 17th, 2012 by WLOY Staff
This week’s matchup between Baltimore and Pittsburg will decide the fate of both teams. Their seasons are at stake.
The Pittsburg Steelers are currently in a situation in which their season is coming close to an end. Their starting quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, is injured and the team is unsure if this injury is season ending or just season crippling.
The Ravens are coping with their loss in Ray Lewis by allowing Ray Rice, their star running back, to do what he does best: Run the football.
But what does that mean necessarily for the Ravens or the Steelers?
Essentially, without this win, the Steelers will be forced to reevaluate their season because this game will be a way to keep them afloat. In doesn’t secure them but it just buys them time.
The Ravens on the other hand, with this win, will be able keep a sturdy grip on the division and put a chokehold on the division forcing the Cincinnati Bengals to play even more catch up behind Pittsburg and Baltimore. Pittsburg has a very old and ailing team to date and would probably slip past Bengals but the Bengals themselves would need to overpower not the defense of the Ravens but their offense.
The AFC North is taking center stage this Sunday and by the end of the night, the AFC North may have its winner.
