Midterm Week SOTW: “Your Favorite Toy” by Foo Fighters

Review:

The Foo Fighters are a rock and roll band and project created by Dave Grohl after Nirvana disbanded in 1994. At the release of their first self-titled album, Grohl was the only member and played every instrument himself on the recording. Foo Fighters are known for their authentic energy and intense music that draws the listener in. Additionally, the band has a large personality, and passion for their work. They have gone outside the box and released not only a documentary about the forming of the band, but also a comedic-horror film about themselves. 

The single “Your Favorite Toy” was released as promotion for their upcoming album with the same title, releasing on April 24th, 2026. The song has a very nostalgic feeling to it, and really has the same vibes as their older music such as “All My Life”.  With guitar and bass leading the track, and slight vocal distortion, the song is a great homage to classic rock and grunge. It is a great song to listen to in the mornings, to get you pumped up and ready for the day. The beat is very high impact, with the strong tone and energy in Grohl’s singing setting a lively tone.
