Various sounds, including folk, alt-country, and indie-rock influence Arts Fishing Club’s music. Their sound is characterized by heartfelt lyrics and melodies that genuinely showcase the individual talents of each member. The group consists of Christopher Kessenich, Matt Siffert, Jimi Greene, Brian Kempson, and Peter Eddins who met through each member’s journey in pursuing music. The Nashville, Tennessee-based band is known for their energetic live performances and has shared the stage with several respectable artists such as Langhorne Slim, Darlingside, and The Last Bison.
Arts Fishing Club has recently released its newest album, “Rothko Sky” consisting of 10 tracks. Each song adds an intricate part to their discography, completely heightening their potential in the music industry. I find the wholeness of the album to be soothing and perfect for a summer day as the sun sets. I’m a sucker for a love song and the 10th track “#Tornadotext” is easily my favorite. The melody provides a light-hearted flow while adding short-spaced beats to keep the vibe up. I also recommend “Emery” and “Arizona” – they’re a bit slower than “#Tornadotext” but speak to the authentic sound Arts Fishing Club is known for.
