No one knows about serving our nation better than the veterans themselves, so the University of Baltimore Wright Theatre is bring their stories to you! This evening of readings will feature discussions of issues on war and military services and will help you to gain a much better understanding of the lives of those in the armed forces. Veterans, and UB Alumni, will be recounting stories they’ve written about their experiences and the readings will be followed by a facilitated discussion. A-Rod Admits To PED Use

New York Yankees controversial third baseman officially admitted to the DEA during a meeting in January that he did use PED’s…as if we’re surprised by this.
According to a report from the Miami Herald, Rodriguez confessed to paying Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch for providing him with testosterone cream, testosterone gummies, HGH injections. The released report from the DEA stated, “Rodriguez injected the HGH into his stomach. Rodriguez said Bosch told him the HGH would help with sleep, weight, hair growth, eyesight and muscle recovery.” Read the rest of this entry »

DJs of the Month: Teddy and Brandon

Teddy and Brandon host the show Music ‘N’ Stuff that plays every Monday from 8:00-9:00pm. There detication to the station has lead to their new rein as DJs of the Month! Teddy and Brandon are always quick to respond to emails and volunteer for events. These kids are down right awesome. WLOY can always count on Teddy and Brandon to support the station, whether it be following us on social media or promoting us in their daily lives! Baltimore’s Creative Alliance brings to you a night of entertainment presenting Baltimore’s eclectic culture, creativity, and spirit of tattoos. The celebration of skin art will also feature food, live music, a silent auction, and a live charcoal drawing collaboration by local tattoo artists! WLOY Coffeehouse: Matt Hutchison 11/6

As a child, Matt Hutchison fell in love with The Beatles. He even spent a few years in England when he was younger. Matt’s love went as far as thinking he was Paul McCartney! (He used to sign his school papers as Paul McCartney.) Now, he’s bloomed into a wonderful artist that will be at the WLOY Coffeehouse THIS THURSDAY! If you want a little taste of what his music is like, Matt just released four free streaming tracks from his upcoming album, “Three Minute Man”, that will be released November 30.

Lauren Hill Lives Out Basketball Dreams Despite Terminal Cancer

Every so often we witness a story that gives us a reason to believe and a reason to stand up for our fellow humans, and can remind us why we love sports the way we do.
This story lives through 18-year-old Mount St. Joseph’s student, Lauren Hill. Lauren has a special dream, a dream to play college basketball. As she puts it, “I’ve just always wanted to step out onto a college court, looking down at my shoes stepping out on that wooden floor, and feeling the vibration of the crowd. It’s just what I’ve dreamed.”
That dream became impossibly difficult after Lauren was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her tumor is inoperable.

Last Tuesday, Waka Flocka Flame and Riff Raff joined together to give one heck of a show for Baltimore. The concert was at the Baltimore Soundstage which was chock full of diverse fans and raging front rowers’. Coming into the show I was immensely skeptical of the show due the somewhat poor lyrical quality of the two artists. That being said, I could have never been more wrong in my life.
