1. 1963: The Beatles‘ first U.S. album, “Introducing… The Beatles,” was released by Vee-Jay Records.
2. 1972: The Rolling Stones‘ iconic double album “Exile on Main St.” reached No. 1 on the U.S. charts.
3. 1979: Little Richard, a founding figure of rock and roll, performed in England for the first time in 12 years.
4. 1991: Paul McCartney’s “Liverpool Oratorio,” co-written with Carl Davis to celebrate the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s 150th anniversary, had its U.S. premiere.
5. 2003: Coldplay’s “A Rush of Blood to the Head” won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
