2. 1956: Elvis Presley dropped “Heartbreak Hotel,” his first huge hit and a rock ‘n’ roll staple.

3. 1984: Michael Jackson‘s hair caught fire during a Pepsi shoot.

4. 2014: Pete Seeger, a folk music icon known for his protest songs, passed away at 94.

5. 1991: Whitney Houston hit #1 on the charts with “All the Man That I Need.”
