From May 31st – June 2nd, WLOY was invited to attend Let’s Go Festival that took place in Crownsville, Maryland. Thousands of individuals from all over the DMV and beyond came to kick Summer off right! I had the incredible opportunity to cover the event up close, capturing moments from the festival’s stellar lineup and lively atmosphere. This experience had everything a festival goer needs, food truck, local business stands, lawn games, and two stages to enjoy the live music from. Here’s a recap of Let Go Fest 2024! Be sure to find some highlights from June 1st and 2nd on the site 🙂
On May 31st, the festival kicked off with a bang late Friday afternoon. Gabe Woodrow set the tone on the main stage with an acoustic guitar performance, followed by Weathers, whose infectious energy really got the crowd moving. I think they were the best performance that day to be honest. Motion City Soundtrack brought a wave of nostalgia with their signature hits, while Dashboard Confessional’s heartfelt performance created a sea of singing fans. The night concluded after Taking Back Sunday took the stage with their captivating moves, playing the classics and the new stuff in one of their most iconic sets that had everyone on their feet.
Throughout the day over at the second stage, People R Ugly captivated early arrivals with their unique sound, followed by Games We Play, whose wit and banter caused for quite an interesting, yet dynamic performance. Taylor Acorn closed the second stage for the night with a powerful set that left the crowd wanting more. The first day had a perfect mix of emerging talent and seasoned acts, setting a high bar and even higher expectations for the rest of the weekend.
