Vinylthon 2024 – Saturday, April 20-21

VINYLTHON 2024 is here! We’re jumping the gun on celebrating Record Store Day since most colleges are closed in June. Here’s the scoop: WLOY is dedicating a full 48 hours to nothing but vinyl on the airwaves. Our Loyola community, friends, alumni, and talented DJs have curated some amazing shows just for you, all featuring real records. And here’s the kicker: we’re part of a global movement, with hundreds of stations worldwide joining in for the past seven years. Stay tuned for the show schedule!

Oh, and of course we’re raffling a ton of prizes! Prizes include from custom-made vinyl by Wax Mage, a turntable, and concert tickets to Rams Head On Stage, Baltimore Soundstage, and the Let’s Go Music Festival (raffled separately, of course.) Live drawing will be from 12-4 PM on April 20-21; make sure to check our Instagram @wloy_radio for updates and news! 🙂

Share the Love – Valentine’s Day Raffle

Karoondinha (Now Deep Roots) Giveaway!

As many of you have heard the Karoondinha Music and Arts Festival has been cancelled. We are sorry for any of you who were disappointed by this news, and we would never want to let down our listeners. Lucky for us, the Deep Roots Mountain Revival Festival has been generous enough to give us two three-day passes, and camping to one lucky WLOY listener–as well as, honoring those who already purchased passes to Karoondinha with passes to their festival.

The festival will be July 20th to the 22nd (conveniently the same as Karoondinha), and is located at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, West Virginia. Deep Roots Mountain Revival will have an Americana, Bluegrass, Rock and Jam feel to it– featuring bands such as Dr. Dog, Brandi Carlile, Lettuce, JJ Grey & Mofro, Moon Taxi, and many more. Like Karoondinha, Deep Roots wants to encourage festival-goers to relax and connect not only to the music, but nature and themselves. They will be offering activities such as meditation, yoga, sound-healing, and more. Enter with the link below for a chance to win.

The Book Thing Thing Fundraising Concert

On March 2nd, 2016 a Baltimore institution burned. The Book Thing, a free book store serving the city for more than 15 years, suffered a massive fire that destroyed more than 200,000 books and the roof of the building. Russell has started to rebuild and WLOY is going to help. After our initial donation of $2,000, we let him know we wanted to do more. Working with the great people at Friends Records and Peabody Heights Brewing Company, we have put together an amazing festival to raise more money! An incredible collection of local bands large and small have jumped in to help, food vendors signed on, and we are ready to blow everyone away! Join us Saturday May 28 from noon-8pm while we fill 2 stages with bands, and you with food and beverage, all to help The Book Thing!
