Wacky Wednesdays: Electronic Music Fallfest Concert 2012

Want to get off campus and dance? With DJs and electronic music featuring artists like The Expanding Man, and MicFreak; Electronic Music Fallfest is an exciting way to spend your Wednesday. Consisting of 30 minute sets from 8pm-12am this fest displays a variety of different artists and an easy way to introduce yourself to new music. Fallfest is only $5 a ticket! (Yes, really.) Come join your fellow music fans at The Windup Space, located at 10-12 W. North Ave in Baltimore on Oct. 17th for a Wacky Wednesday you will not forget!

Ticket Giveaway – TONIGHT!

Just kidding. But still listen. Because tonight at 7PM, the Random Association Game is giving away a set of tickets to see PASSION PIT at the 930 Club in Washington, DC! The show is next Tuesday, October 16th. Did I mention it’s SOLD OUT? Because it is, so you literally cannot get tickets (at a reasonable price) anywhere else. How will you know when and how to win? You’ll just have to tune in later and find out.

Singers, Songwriters, and Saleem

Are you a singer or a songwriter? Do you enjoy listening to music? Do you enjoy free concerts? If your answer to any of those questions is yes, then our late night Singer/Songwriter Workshop is for you! This Thursday from 9-11p.m., WLOY is hosting a musical guest, Saleem, in the Reading Room. Remember Saleem? He has performed at Loyola a few times before and is always sure to please! His hip-hop style infused with the rhythm of Baltimore provides for a great musical treat. Bring instruments, original songs or whatever else you are working on and ask him for advice. Not a songwriter? Just come and enjoy!

Filiohno – WLOY’s Eating Machine

Alex successfully defends her title at Hampdenfest 2012 by speed eating her way through an innocent piece of Cafe Hon’s amazing bread pudding, complete with caramel sauce and whipped cream. She toyed with the other competitors to make them feel like they had a chance and then crushed their hopes like they were little bugs. All hail Filiohno! And keep away when she’s hungry!

Sports Saturdays: The Last Stand for the Baltimore Orioles

As the MLB season comes to a close soon, the Orioles are looking to extend their time at Oriole Park just a little longer. This weekend, the Orioles will be playing Division Rival Boston Red Sox.
Currently, the Orioles are in the heat of it all by being a game and a half back from the New York Yankees for first place in the American League East.
This homestead follows an incredible week for the Birds. They won six straight in a row in extra innings. The heart and fight that the players are giving happen to be so enduring for Baltimore natives and Oriole fans who have not had the opportunity to see a postseason game in more than 5 years.
