I know everybody dreamt of being a swashbuckling pirate sailing the mighty seas as a young child. Urban Pirates allows people of all ages to strap on their sea legs, or maybe a peg leg, and live out this dream. Visitors can climb aboard the Fearless in Fells Point to take on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and hopefully find some treasure along the way. People of all ages can feel what it’s like to be a man or woman of the sea. Urban Pirates offers Family Adventure cruises sailing 7 days a week, Adult “Bring Your Own Grog” cruises Thursday through Saturday nights, and even free story time Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am. This pirate cruise can even serve as the perfect venue for an upcoming birthday party for scallywags of all ages. For the Family Adventure Cruise, tickets are $10 for children 2 and under and $20 for all guests 3 and older. Tickets are $25 for the Adult “Bring Your Own Grog” cruise. Tickets tend to sell out one to two weeks in advance so be sure to purchase them well in advance!

Wacky Wednesdays: Waterfront Wellness

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore Inc. serves as “our Harbor’s chief advocate, promoter, and steward.” This coalition seeks to create programs that will keep Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor and it’s people healthy and beautiful. The Waterfront Wellness Series will be offering free wellness classes every Saturday and Sunday through September 29th at the West Shore Park! These classes are suitable for people of all skill levels and are taught by local professionals in the wellness industry. On Saturdays, you can participate in Boot Camp at 8:30 am and Zumba at 9:30 am. On Sundays, Yoga is offered at 8:30 am while CrossFit is offered at 9:30 am. Please bring your own mat, towel, and bottle of water for each class. Also, in the event of rain, all classes will be canceled. The series is also restricted to people age 18 and above.

Wacky Wednesdays: Fells Point Haunted Pub Walk

Eat, drink, be terrified. Weekends through November 30th, men and women age 21 and up can step through the doors of some of Fell’s Point’s most haunted pubs for a fascinating tour of this historic maritime neighborhood. For just $20, patrons can partake in a 2 hour tour of Historic Fell’s Point seeing some of its spookiest bars and hangouts, all while enjoying some food and drink. Don’t be surprised if you get chills, goosebumps, or the hair on your neck stands up as participants have even described having ghost sightings right in front of their eyes. Be sure to buy your tickets early, as this event frequently sells out early. As a reminder, the tour is only for people 21 and older.

Wacky Wednesdays: Best of Baltimore Speakeasy Party

Need a drink, dollface? Put on your best suit or flapper dress and head down to the speakeasy for the 25th annual Best of Baltimore Party presented by Baltimore Magazine. This event, which is feather and fringe optional, will feature eats from the area’s best restaurants, handcrafted cocktails, fine wines,and specialty beers to quench your palette. COVERGIRL will also be there for free makeup giveaways. There will be aerial burlesque and live music from Burnt Sienna and DJ Kopec. Plus, there’s still time to purchase VIP tickets to ensure you get even more great giveaways. Proceeds from the event will even be going to The Family Tree which works with families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Tickets are $80 in advance for general admission and $135 in advance for VIP. Get your tickets before they sell out because this event is guaranteed to be a great time.

Wacky Wednesdays: Seersucker and Sundresses Garden Party

The Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens are pleased to present their inaugural Garden party, themed “Seersucker and Sundresses.” As mentioned, this event will feature croquet, picnic fare, music, and a good, relaxing time for the entire family. The event, which will be held rain or shine, is guarenteed to be an evening of elegance. For adults, tickets will be $35 and for children 12 and under, the price is $10. The event is also offering a special package for families totaling $80 (up to 2 adults and multiple children). This special event is meant as a fundraiser for this historic Baltimore landmark, celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Wacky Wednesdays: I Am: A Night of Monologues

The Faces of Homelessness Bureau presents I Am: A Night of Monologues. This unique cultural event will feature stories, spoken word poetry, prose, and heartfelt anecdotes about the impact of prejudice on our communities and the power of the human spirit to overcome unimaginable odds. Held at the Youth Empowered Society Drop In Center, a place created for youth between ages 14 and 25 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness, this event promises to be compelling and interesting. These dialogues are told from the perspective of both the person who has experienced or is experiencing homelessness and the local speaker who advocates for the rights of the man or woman experiencing homelessness. This event seeks to challenge us to see beyond conventional stereotypes that pull us apart and to recognize the humanity that lies within every individual, regardless of their situation. There is no fee, per se; however, a donation of $10 is suggested at the door.

Wacky Wednesdays: Baltimore’s 4th of July Celebration

Come celebrate the Fourth of July holiday in Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor! From 7 to 10 PM on the Fourth, visitors will be able to listen to live music and view an incredible light show, all to celebrate this great holiday. Beginning at 7PM, the U.S. Naval Academy Band Electric Brigade will perform your favorite Top 40 tunes and beginning promptly at 9:30 PM, a beautiful and elaborate firework show will take place. The light show will go off from two barged docked in the harbor and will be choreographed to music. Entertainment takes place at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, located at Pratt and Light Streets. The event itself is free and many restaurants and businesses will be open for visitors to patronize.

Wacky Wednesdays: Summer Sounds at the Square

Being able to just hang out and listen to free music is pretty awesome. But free music at one of the coolest hangouts in Baltimore, Belvedere Square, is even better. Every Friday through August 30th, Summer Sounds at the Square will be live in Belvedere Square, featuring some of the most awesome local artists. The genres of music range from Classic Rock to Reggae and there’s even a Beetles cover band added into the mix. From 6-9pm be sure to head on down to Belvedere Square, on the corner of York Road and Belvedere Avenue for this great event that is in-part sponsored by Loyola University! Plus, Belvedere Square has tons of great shops and restaurants that will for sure keep you entertained. I mean, Atwaters in the Market at Belvedere has milkshakes that you could die for – so obviously even more reason to go.

This annual gathering aims to honor and celebrate the growing diversity of the Baltimore community and state of Maryland. This three-day festival will include a parade, block party, and various musical performances, among other things. The events don’t stop during the day, however, as various clubs host exciting parties to keep the celebration going. Think you’re queen enough? Then strap on your highest pair of heels, and join in this weekend of non-stop entertainment.
