Come to a voter forum to register to vote; test the voting machines; find out what the Democratic and Republican campaigns says about important disability issues; show our voting strength; get informed, energized, and motivated to go to the polls! Explore Baltimore: Rosemont PhotoVoice

Photovoice is a research method that puts cameras in the hands of community members so that they may present their voice and lived experience through pictures. This photovoice project was completed to support efforts of community redevelopment and stabilization in the Greater Rosemont Community of west Baltimore currently underway by community members and advocates.

Tourism Tuesday: “The House I Live In” Film Screening and Discussion

Filmed in more than twenty states, “The House I Live In” tells the stories of individuals at all levels of America’s War on Drugs. From the dealer to the narcotics officer, the inmate to the federal judge, the film offers a penetrating look inside America’s criminal justice system, revealing the profound human rights implications of U.S. drug policy. David Simon, creator of The Wire, will introduce “The House I Live In.” The film will be followed by a conversation with the director, writer and producer of “The House I Live In,” Eugene Jarecki, and Judge Andre Davis, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The House I Live In is the winner of the 2012 Sundance Festival Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. This event is co-sponsored by the Maryland Film Festival and is part of OSI-Baltimore’s Talking About Race Series which continues to explore the many different facets of this complex subject. This event is free and open to the public.
