Museum Monday: New Contemporary Wing to Reopen at the Baltimore Museum of Art

Can’t wait any longer to see the new pieces at the Baltimore Museum of Art? Well, you don’t have to wait much longer! The new contemporary wing is set to reopen on November 18th! Over 15 galleries in over 35,000 square feet will be revealed for the public to enjoy. New exhibits featuring artist Zwelethu Mthethwa as well as digital artists Allora & Cazadilla just to name a few. The best part about these news exhibits is that they, along with the rest of the museum is all free! So come to the Baltimore Museum of Art to enjoy the new artwork!

Museum Mondays: Won’t You Celebrate With Me?

This exhibit honors the Life and Poetic Legacy of Lucille Clifton portrayed through the photographs of Lynda Koolish in conjunction with Furious Flower Poetry Center, James Madison University. Lucille Clifton exhibits the epitome of a life well lived, which is depicted in this exhibit. You are invited to get to know former Maryland Poet Laureate this Museum Monday!

Food Friday: Support Bea Gaddy Family Center Inc.

Want to give back to the community? Help support the Bea Gaddy Family Center right here in Baltimore. Each week leading up to Thanksgiving, local radio station Heaven 600 hosts a food drive to raise money and canned goods for families in need during the Holiday season. Each week they hosts a live broadcast where they give out prizes and chances to win concert tickets if you come down and support this great cause. Bea Gaddy is a woman is has been helping those in need for countless years. She offers direct attention to those who need it in a hands on way. Theater Thursdays: “Wait for the Sun”

Don’t miss out on the commemoration the 50th Anniversary of the Million Man March on Washington, D.C. with this play written by Baltimore author, Edward “Jerry” Williams. On Wednesday August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. told the world that he had a dream. The Living History Group will present an original play dedicated to his dream of freedom and peace in the world. Also, the show will be fundraiser for the Arena Players and the Waxter Senior Center..
