They make a delicious iced coffee using coffee ice cubes… Um awesome… Never worry about a diluted drink again. For those craving a sandwich or pastry they have got you covered with a variety of appetizing options! Café Latte Da roasts their own coffee from flavors like Italian–the Cane Corso blend, to Moka Java–the English Bulldog. You may have noticed those are both dogs and that would be because this coffee shop really supports Baltimore locals like the Baltimore Humane Society. Barcocinaaaaa, everyone needs to get down to Fells Point to enjoy some delicious, amazing, and tantalizing modern Mexican cuisine! I had the pleasure of dining in for a sunny brunch. Seriously though, so sunny. The windows surrounding the restaurant give you a wonderful view of the harbor and Fells Point, while enjoying a beautiful sun-shining day.
To accompany this view, there are savory brunch options. I had the hash brown tacos… Two taco shells made out of hash browns with hollandaise sauce…amazing. My friends had breakfast enchiladas and jalapeno corn bread, just too too good.
Come too late for brunch well then grab some lunch, grab some dinna. Dive into The Reuben or the Crab Guacamole! Yum Yum.

I know what I want for the holidays… Candy and candy and more candy! So I hope all of my friends and relatives will be heading to Kilwins located in Fells Point for my gifts!
Kilwins has excellent hours so while you’re in that holiday rush there is no excuse for you not to pick of your delicious chocolates and sweet candies! Walking into the store your eyes are filled with the site of candy apples, ice cream, little chocolates to big chocolates! It is a circuit overload! What to get!? They offer 32 flavors of fudge and a large variety of fresh candies! You know where all of your treats are coming from because you can watch them make it right in the store! They also have rich hot chocolate, a must for the winter season!

I am no stranger to Grano Pasta Bar, in fact, I love the pasta bar. Its intimate setting is a great place for you to get your favorite pasta with your best friends. At Grano, you pick your favorite pasta and favorite sauce and whatever else suits your fancy. I am personally the biggest fan of Gnocchi with Vodka Sauce, simple I know, but absolutely delicious! Their vodka sauce is to die for! They have plenty of options from farfalle to penne and all the sauces your heart desires. Along with bread and many other options, maybe a cannoli or three after dinner? Then you are set for a great evening with great food! Don’t have time to sit down? That’s cool just do take-out, I promise it is just as good!

While out and about in Mt. Vernon one must visit Dooby’s Café. I would be confident in describing it as a hipster-modern destination with great food and drinks. The inside is inviting with a modern design and rustic tables. Dooby’s Café serves absolutely delicious food! Get a filling Steak & Egg Sandwich, made with cheddar, gochujang aioli, and caramelized onions. Or, go big with the Homestyle Breakfast, featuring two over-easy eggs, chicken sausage, bacon, hash and toast. They also serve sandwiches like the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak, and yummy noodles. After stuffing your face with Dooby’s delicious entrees, dive into their Damn Good Pie, consisting of Brûléed buttermilk tart with a chocolate cookie crumble crust! Two please! Lets get back to the basics this week! Lets talk about Jimmy’s! Located in Fells Point, Jimmy’s offers you your favorite and to-the-point breakfast meals. Maybe you just want a pat of butter on freshly made pancakes–well they have that–along side with some crispy bacon and a sunny over easy egg. Have a cup of Joe in a classic white mug along side an omelet. It is your go-to easy breakfast with delicious home fries and hash browns. It is as simply delicious as a bagel with cream cheese to an egg sandwich. They are very reasonably priced and will always provide a hot meal with great service! Aside from the food Jimmy’s offers you a classic diner experience with metal and leather stools placed beneath a clean white counter.

In the mood for sushi? Me too. That is why I will be heading to my go to sushi spot, Yama Sushi. Located in Hampden it is open 7 days week, meaning your sushi cravings will never go unsatisfied. I choose Yama Sushi because of its affordable pricing and delicious (very delicious) sushi. They offer rolls such as your casual California Roll to speciality rolls like the Yama Roll, consisting of lobster, avocado and eel. Or, try the Spider Man 3 roll, soft shell crab, lettuce and a crab stick…sounds ah-mazing! Maybe you’re not the biggest fan of sushi, thats cool–no worries–Yama’s got you. They offer dishes like Yama Salad, Miso soup, Chicken Teriyaki, Steak Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempora and so much more. Yama has you covered!

Food Friday: Artifact Coffee

The other day I woke up early and headed on over to Artifact Coffee before class. I am in love. In love with the atmosphere the food and the deliciously soothing tea that helped cure a sore throat! I sat down at a rustic table while the waiter brought me a carafe of water and placed down my lemon-green tea infuser with a cute blue tea cup and plate. I then scarfed down a breakfast sandwich, amazing, it was crunchy yet soft yet cheesy, ugh, everything you want in a sausage breakfast sandwich.

Baltimore is no stranger to seafood! There is another seafood festival coming to Baltimore October 24 from 1pm to 5pm and it is all about oysters’… nom nom. In addition to eating a healthy amount of grilled oysters there will be plenty of other activities to indulge in. The Oyster Festival will have live music, featuring the Eastport Oyster Boys and The High & Wides. There will be oyster boat tours and many vendors!
This is a FREE festival! Food tickets cost five for $20 and individually $5. Come sip on some fine wine and dive into raw and grilled oysters!

Food Friday: Golden West Cafe Take Out Window

I have always been a faithful to Golden West Cafe and their Sunday morning brunch. This past weekend at HampdenFest, I finally got the chance to experience the new take-out window. And, in the spirit of a true toddler I had waffles with a big fluffy dollop of whip cream and a big glass of chocolate milk (admittedly an odd choice for a hot saturday morning). It. Was. Awesome. Delicious and hardly nutritious–the perfect breakfast. The Take-Out window’s hours are amazing, 7am-2am on Fridays and Saturdays, perfect those late nights of too much…studying and work…and you really just want a huge platter of nachos. (more…)
