Explore Baltimore: Pinch

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 by WLOY Staff

2esjji6n-jpg-largeWhat: Pinch Dumplings

Where: Mt. Vernon Marketplace

When: Everyday from 9am-10pm

Hand made, hand pinched, and organic, Pinch offers some of the best dumplings you can find in Baltimore. Primarily located in Mt. Vernon Marketplace, this restaurant is perfect to go to when all your friends are in the mood for something different. So while your friend gets a boring old sandwich, you can taste a piece of Northern China.

Dedicated to authenticity, Pinch captures that attitude in their food and service. By using locally grown organic products to create a traditional Chinese dumpling, the food not only tastes authentic, but also delicious. They keep it simple: several combinations of fillings for their dumplings like beef and carrots, or traditional pork, or vegan options, perfecting each dumpling.

Pinch has several locations throughout Maryland, but only they are only at Mt. Vernon in Baltimore. They sell at various marketplaces which you can find here and also deliver via OrderUp. So whether you get them from Mt. Vernon, delivered, or at a Maryland marketplace, Pinch’s dumplings will have you coming back for more!

Food Fridays: Papermoon Diner

Friday, September 16th, 2016 by WLOY Staff

jly7aegv

What: Papermoon Diner

Where: 227 W 29th St

When: Hours

Funky. Eccentric. Delicious. That’s the best way to do justice to the Papermoon Diner. Full of color and strange decorations, like doll heads, this place is Baltimore’s take on diners.

Cool decorations aren’t the only appeal though. This diner has amazing food ranging from brunch to nachos to pasta to milkshakes (pictured above). With food for vegans and meat-lovers alike, this is a diner for everyone. The only negative about Papermoon is that it takes forever to decide what you want! I would recommend something to you, but even I can’t make up my mind as to what’s the best. Check out their menu here and stop in to pig out.

Food Friday: Cannoli

Friday, April 29th, 2016 by WLOY Staff

cannoli What: 60 cent Cannoli

Where: Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry Shop

When: May 12 9am to 10pm

I don’t think this Food Friday needs too much advertising, if “60 cent Cannoli’s” doesn’t grab you then I don’t know what will. I can’t help you. No one can help you.

These amazing, fabulous, decadent, carefully made cannoli’s are now going to be available every 2nd Thursday for the rest of the year! Buttt you can’t go into this lovely pastry shop and clean them out! Only two per person, which I think is very fair, I would be fine with half a cannoli for 60 cents, plus… incase you didn’t know… these bad boys are large.

So head on down! Get yo cannoli’s!!!

Food Friday: Ekiben

Friday, April 22nd, 2016 by WLOY Staff

ekiben What: Ekiben

Where: 1622 Eastern Ave

When:  mon thru saturday

I think everyone needs to stop on by Ekiben in Fells Point soon, and I mean yesterday… It is great. From taking Fells by food truck Ekiben, an “asian comfort food” (baltimoresun.com) destination, has moved up the ranks to an old fashioned store front! And we could not be more excited! As a smaller restaurant this could possibly be your new go to places in Fells Point for take-out. Go for The Original or the Neighborhood Bird with side of Tempura Broccoli to split with your friends you will not be disappointed!
