Battle of the Bands Contestant: Psychedelia
Meet Psychedelia (@psyyychedeliaaa), a band that blends psych-pop with hints of indie, art rock, and hip-hop. Their sound is dreamy, layered, and experimental — and they’re kicking off this year’s Battle of the Bands.
The group officially came together in early 2024, but the project had already been in motion months before. “All of us hung out in our dorm for hours working on songs and testing out new ideas and sounds, eventually leading to the creation of the band.” Now made up of Stuart (Lead Guitar/Production), Nick (Lead Vocals/Bass), and Rohan (Synthesizer/Keys/Backing Vocals), Psychedelia is ready to bring something new to the stage.

Upcoming: Ladies Night @ FAC

Loyola’s Women’s Center and Fitness & Aquatic Center (FAC) are hosting their annual Ladies Night on March 13 from 8–10 PM, and you don’t want to miss it.
WLOY will be there, spinning all your favorite tracks by women artists while you enjoy an exciting lineup of activities, including all-women Zumba, yoga, and self-defense classes. Plus, there will be tons of free t-shirts and prizes up for grabs throughout the night. Come celebrate and support women in our community at Loyola’s FAC from 8–10 PM this upcoming Thursday, March 13.

Join WLOY for Karaoke for a Cause: Gong Karaoke on Friday, March 14, from 6-8 PM in Starbucks! Never heard of Gong Karaoke? No worries—WLOY has you covered. For just $1, you can request a song to sing, but beware! Spectators can pay $2 to hit the gong and send you offstage. Want to stay up there? It’ll cost $5 to keep singing, but if someone really wants you gone, they can pay $10 in sudden death to kick you off for good!
All proceeds benefit Loyola’s Relay for Life, supporting the American Cancer Society in its mission to celebrate survivorship and fund critical research and programs. Ready for some friendly competition for a great cause? Join WLOY on March 14 for a night of music, fun, and giving back!

Explore Baltimore: Free Concert Venues

Concert Review: Mannequin Pussy

Punk powerhouse Mannequin Pussy delivered an electrifying set at Baltimore Soundstage on January 31st. The band is currently touring the country for their latest album, I Got Heaven, proving once again why they’re one of the most exhilarating bands in the punk and indie rock scene. They tore through an energetic setlist, keeping the crowd in a never-ending state of elation.

Join us outside Boulder Café on Thursday and Friday, February 6-7, and February 13-14, from 11 AM to 1 PM, where we’ll be selling $5 mystery CDs. Each CD will be wrapped with hints provided by our Music Librarians to help you pick the perfect musical surprise.
