Kate Bollinger is an American folk singer-songwriter from Charlottesville, VA. She has released four EPs in her career, but Songs From A Thousand Frames Of Mind is her debut studio album. She’s performed at NPR’s World Cafe and is just now getting the fame she deserves.
This album has themes of exploration, relationships, growing up, and just life as a whole. Each song is relaxing, having a warm, slightly muffled sound that almost sounds like it’s playing from a vinyl. It’s melancholy and almost has a dreamy psychedelic feel to it.
My favorite songs from the album are “Running” and “To Your Own Devices.” Her voice is what makes her music so unique and almost reminds me of the dreamy tone of Men I Trust’s songs. Definitely would give this album a listen during fall because it carries that relaxing, mellow feel.
