Ella Thompson is a modern soul singer, her lyrics explore nostalgia, love, and self-realization. Her new album is driven by modern soul sounds with cinematic arrangements. She emphasized on an interview that her new album, “It’s about finding our place in both the microscopic and the universal. That’s what soul music means to me—songs of love, resistance, and shared humanity.”
Some of the songs I really liked were “There’s a Fire, Yet to Burn,” “Omen,” and “Changes.” My favorite track is “One More Step,” the music is so beautiful, and it reminds you to follow your dreams and aspirations, but at your own pace. Overall, I really enjoyed the piano and guitar arrangements in all the songs, they transport you to a calmer headspace; like everything is going to be alright vibes. I recommend adding some of these songs to your self-care playlist!
