Bailey Perrie Interview

February 13th, 2026 by The Professor

Marley Lehmann (’28) jumped on a zoom call with Australian singer/songwriter/actress/teacher Bailey Perrie at her home in Perth for a quick chat about her music and her new single “Mascara”. Check it out! Bailey Perrie is a singer and songwriter from Perth, Australia. From a young age, she fell in love with the arts; dancing, musical theater, acting, and especially singing. Her passion for songwriting has grown immensely over the years as she takes inspiration from artists such as Avril Lavigne and Olivia Rodrigo. Bailey blends the genres of pop and rock to create a uniquely confident, yet defiant sound that works perfectly with her emotional lyricism. She is currently performing at gigs close to home in Western Australia and new music is in the works!

AOTW – “Red sky at morning” by h. pruz

February 12th, 2026 by Ellie Walsh

Classes are back, and so is Album of the Week! Here’s the latest review:

AOTW: “Red sky at morning” by h. pruz

Review by: Marley Lehmann

Release Date: November 2025

Rating: 9.5/10

RIYL: Bon Iver, Adrienne Lenker, Fleet Foxes, Allison Ponthier

Hannah Pruzinsky, or h. pruz is a Queens-based singer and songwriter who focuses mainly on the genre of light indie-folk. In her most recent album, Red sky at morning, her vocals are very delicate, combined with the deep themes of the song. All of this, combined with the airy music following her voice, made me feel that it is the perfect album for these chilly but sunny days.

After releasing a few albums and working on collaborations, Charli and her marketing genius struck gold with the release of her 2024 album, “brat”. The album became a symbol in pop culture, even leading the warm weather to be nicknamed “brat summer”. Charli XCX is known for her style and risky experimental tracks. December 11th, 2025 by Ellie Walsh

Here’s our final AOTW for the semester! Have a great winter break 🙂

ATOW: “SABLE fABLE” by Bon Iver

Review by: Jordan Sheckells ’28

Album released: April 11th, 2025

Rating: 9/10

RIYL: Fleet Foxes, James Blake, Dijon, The Tallest Man on Earth

Review: Bon Iver’s fifth studio album, “SABLE, fABLE” is nothing new from their previous work and have yet again met the quality standards that come with their past albums. Their new album SABLE, fABLE serves as an epilogue or ending to the band’s career and closing a chapter that has been around for more than a decade. I find that the album provides a great closing for the bands career and leaves fans with an accepted and good ending. Read the rest of this entry »

WLOY to participate in The Mayor’s Christmas Parade

December 8th, 2025 by Sophia Thornberg

This weekend WLOY will once again be participating in the 52nd Annual Mayor’s Christmas Parade!

The parade was started in 1952 by then-Mayor William Donald Schaefer in 1972 as a response to the discontinued Hochschild-Kohn Toytown Parade. The parade route was set to go through Hampden as to boost local businesses and community spirit after the closure of the Mt. Vernon Mill Company.

Since then the parade has become a longstanding tradition, traveling through the heart of Baltimore’s Medfield and Hampden neighborhoods. It was even the subject of the documentary Parade Daywhich was released this past November. The documentary follows the committee of volunteers who work together to plan, coordinate, and manage certain aspects of the parade to ensure that everyone has a good experience.

Review written by Mia Ciccarelle ’29

SOTW: “Favorite Daughter” by Lorde

Release Date: June 27th, 2025

RIYL: Lana Del Ray, Florence and The Machine

Review: Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, aka, Lorde, is a New Zealand born singer songwriter. In 2009, Lorde signed to Universal Music Group at only 13 years old. She began her bright career with her project The Love Club EP in 2013. Featured on this was “Royals”, which became one of the best selling singles of all time. Her young age made these accomplishments even more astonishing. For example, she became the youngest artist to have a number one single on the Billboard charts, since 1987. The same year her EP was released, her first official studio album Pure Heroine also came out, followed by Melodrama in 2017, and Solar Power in 2021. Her fourth album, Virgin came out in June of 2025. She is now travelling with her Ultrasound World Tour.
