Staff Picks: Liz’s Top 5
April 9th, 2025 by Liz Kosik
Hi, I’m Liz, the Public Relations Director at WLOY, and here are my top 5 songs of the week!
5. “Amazing” – Rex Orange County: As my senior year concludes, many of these tracks remind me of my earlier college years. “Amazing” was released in March 2022 during the spring of my first year, and it brings me back to those spring days spent with my best friends.
4. “Looking at You” – Two Friends, Sam Vesso: One of my favorite tracks from my first year at Loyola is by Two Friends, who played at our Loyolapalooza—I fell in love with their music after that.
3. “Spring Into Summer” – Lizzy McAlphine: This track is topping the charts right now, and it’s in just about every TikTok edit. I love this song because it captures a relationship that only the two people involved truly understand. I often feel like my best friends and I are in our own little world, and Lizzy’s music describes that feeling perfectly.
2. “Strangers In The Night” – Frank Sinatra: If you saw my previous “Top 5” selection, Frank Sinatra showing up on this week’s list should be no surprise. This is one of my favorite songs right now—I play it at least five times a day.
1. “Can I Have This Dance” – High School Musical Cast: HSM3 will always be one of the best movies ever made, and “Can I Have This Dance” perfectly encapsulates the film’s dreamy portrayal of dancing in the rain with the love of your life.
