  1. 1966: The Beatles announced that their upcoming tour would be their last in the United States.
  2. 1974: Cass Elliot, member of The Mamas & the Papas, passed away in London at the age of 32.
  3. 1987: Ben & Jerry’s introduced the ice cream flavor “Cherry Garcia,” named after Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia.
  4. 1990: Elton John performed his 1000th concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
  5. 1994: Oasis released their debut album “Definitely Maybe,” which became a defining moment for the Britpop movement.
