Townsville alt-pop artist Winifred has released her new EP, “Carpet of Flowers,” which includes a title track and accompanying music video. The EP draws on themes of nature’s beauty and fragility to reflect human experiences, a prominent area of reflection for Winifred. The title song, inspired by a walk-through Islington and a collaboration with London producer Tutara Peak, features soothing harmonies and lyrics expressing a gentle desire for love. Winifred personalizes her music through the incorporation of EDM sounds, significantly drawing her apart from other mainstream artists.

Winifred likens “Carpet of Flowers” to a journey, with the verses and pre-chorus representing low points and the chorus symbolizing high points. She highlights its ethereal quality and the constant search for understanding and desire. The music video for the title track, released alongside the EP, deepens the visual story told in her other singles “Blue Fire,” “Want It Bad,” and “Fixed On You.” The EP’s 5-se tracklist includes these songs, completing the artistic narrative.
