DESCRIPTION:Swampcandy is the aggressive Stomping Mississippi Blues and Roots influenced duo that won the 2014 Floydfestival On The Rise competition coming in first place out of 35 bands that preformed at the festival. They have a sound that a band can only achieve after performing over 1000 gigs. Nominated by WLOY\, Swampcandy also won BEST ARTIST on RadioFlag for 2014. They’ve played several shows with us in the past and make it impossible for an audience to stay still. Catch them in the Coffeehouse right before they head off on another UK tour!

Ed Sheeran and Etta James covers are recommended\, along with heart felt originals. So stop by the Reading Room from 8-10PM this Thursday for good tunes from your peers\, a relaxing vibe and real\, 100% Arabica Coffee!

DESCRIPTION:Emmy nominated singer/songwriter ellen cherry (lowercase letters intentional!) is a full-time touring and working performer based in Baltimore\, MD. In 2012\, ellen released her newest and most intimate work yet\, a piano-based album produced by Caleb Stine\, entitled “Please Don’t Sell the Piano”. Throughout 2012\, ellen was a Strathmore Artist-in-Residence and co-founded MOBTOWNmoon\, a new collaborative project for Baltimore musicians. In 2010\, she wrote\, recorded and performed a song for an Emmy nominated TV campaign and also composed the score for a shadow puppet piece entitled “Alonzo’s Lullaby”\, which has been awarded the prestigious UNIMA Citation of Excellence. ellen tours nationally and internationally\, charming audiences from house concerts to festivals! \nEllen has graced the Coffeehouse before and garnered rave reviews from students. Join us 8-10pm for another wonderful evening including her latest single “Whippoorwill Lodge”. It’s sure to enchant!
