Dear competition… Sorry!

Our trip to the National Student Media Convention in Orlando, Florida was amazing. Not only did we broadcast live from the convention floor, we got to do a 2 hour live broadcast from the Universal Studios Broadcast Center while outside zombies, chainsaw wielding crazies and oh so much more wandered by. Ok, they were setting up for another night of Halloween Horror Nights there, but it was still pretty bizarre to look out and see a dozen Leatherface characters walk by. WLOY staff hosted panels and participated in all sorts of great stuff all weekend. But our real triumph was some serious national recognition of our students. How about this for recognition?

Not bad, eh?

The National Student Production Awards ceremony emcee was WLOY’s own Sports Director Eric Morris (’07) and former WLOY General Manager Tim Teeling (’11) hosted a packed session on web design for media. We pretty much owned Orlando.
