Sports TalkThey’re tenacious. They’re efficient. They’re on the hunt for perfection. This March Madness, no one is safe from…the Kentucky Wildcats!

*Insert maniacal laughter from John Calipari here*

All horror movie-style jokes aside, Kentucky has looked to be in a league all their own this basketball season. After advancing to the Elite 8 after a 78-39 beat down of West Virginia in which the Mountaineers never came close to even competing with the Wildcats, there has been one question on the minds of everyone watching college basketball.

Don’t Tweet If You’re Gonna Be A Twit

Sports TalkIf you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all, and certainly don’t say it on Twitter if you’re involved in college athletics!

Social media has revolutionized the way that we communicate, allowing us to share our thoughts on a global scale instantaneously. However, those who don’t know how to harness this immense scope of power and outreach should just stay far away from it.

Athletes and those involved in college athletics, in particular, need to remember that they live under a microscope, and every tweet they post will be seen by at least somebody. It seems that WVU Men’s Basketball head coach Bob Huggins’ daughters and Bloomsburg University baseball player, Joey Casselberry, didn’t get that memo. (more…)

CFB Playoff Report: Year One

Sports Talk We are officially one year in to the new college football playoff system with its new committee, and one thing is very clear…clarity is much needed!

Going into the final week of the college football regular season, the rankings had 10-1 TCU at number 3, 12-0 Florida State at number 4, 11-1 Ohio State at number 5, and 10-1 Baylor at number 6.

All 5 teams won their last game of the season, however the kicker in this whole situation is that TCU and Baylor’s final games didn’t include a conference championship game due to the fact that it doesn’t exist in the BIG 12.

The final rankings completely shafted the BIG 12 Conference, as TCU and Baylor were bumped back to the 6 and 5 spot respectively, leaving them on the outside looking in to number 3 Florida State and number 4 Ohio State. (more…)
